Our Mission
The Veteran Hunters Canada Ltd is a non-profit organization operated by volunteers who are retired Canadian Armed Forces Veterans and First Responders, who themselves have gone through their own mental health journeys. Their goal is to serve their fellow Veterans, Military Members & First Responders by providing peer support and therapy gained through outdoor adventures.

Participants in our programs acknowledge that being in the outdoors is extremely therapeutic, especially when surrounded by fellow Soldiers, Law Enforcement Officers, Paramedics, Firefighters and Corrections Officers.

OVERCOMING TRAUMA TOGETHER
Being in nature requires you to be in the moment and mindful of your surroundings. Our peer-led programs give Veterans and First Responders the opportunity for self discovery and a reaffirmation and validation of who they are. These heroes leave the program with a sense of purpose, grounding and self worth.
We are the only organization of our kind in Canada, not only for the means of therapy we use, but also for the fact that all of our participants are led by either a Veteran or a Responder who has experienced similar trauma. We are also the only National Hunting & Fishing Organization for Veterans, Military Members & First Responders.

We provide opportunities currently in British Columbia; Alberta; Quebec; New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. To date we have helped over 500 Veterans, Military Members, First Responders & Spouses.
